Welcome to Up and Away in 5th Grade!

My interest in blogging has always been back and forth due to not being able to find a site I wanted to use or unable to devote time to sitting down to write a post. However after months (maybe even years!) of debating on if I should take the plunge, I was finally able to create this site in the first week of summer break.

While blogging is an excellent tool to share and collaborate with the teacher community, I also look forward to using it to reflect on my own teaching, as well as a way to reach out and communicate to my students and their families. I'm a true believer in the fact that my students are my best professional development in that they encourage me to be a better teacher!
